AI has already fallen into the wrong hands, and that needs to be considered. I'm a former software consultant, and I don't mind being left behind as long as it does the things it is doing to human beings. It's in the wrong hands, released prematurely, and is already reeking havoc on the world. As it is, I don't trust it one bit. I knew this would happen, too, because people are slobbering too much over it.
we also need to consider where the minerals that are required for all electronics are coming from and how they are mined. including the computers powering chatbots that generate superficially pretty slop. crypto mining burns through graphics cards, bricks computers and requires mind boggling amounts of electricity to power it. the minerals for those computers will probably come from Congo where children as young as 5 or 6 are being forced to mine for toxic rare earth minerals
Excellent, well thought out as usual
