Am trans. Don’t plan on taking any of their shit but definitely terrified. I can confirm that even having somewhere with some numbers or emails if needed would be game changing for so many of us.

Thank you for this detailed and informative article.

Taking notes as a Canadian ally determined to fight against the alt-right goons trying to spread the same hate up here. It helps so much to have some positive actions to focus on.

Incredibly important just to stay strong, stay vocal, and stay together. The intent is to demean and demotivate. Don't do their work for them or follow the bad faith baiting arguments. Keep it simple.

No one is "less than" because of who they are.

Call. Write. Show up. We only truly lose our rights when we stop fighting for them.

I’m an ally in a state that has constitutional protections for trans people. Trans women are free to use my bathroom (except impostors). I’m reaching out to organizations that care for (and care about) trans people.

I think the thug in the White House is acting at the behest of President Musk, who misgenders and deadnames his own daughter. Without this personal connection, I’m sure they don’t give a shit about the trans community. They’d rather return to the people they REALLY hate — Black and Jewish people, and women.

Just curious, what do you mean by impostors?

Someone pretending to be trans who just wants to use my bathroom. Sorry for the confusion.

Do you have any suggestions on connecting with people who need a place to stay or finding out if there's a local safe housing network where I live that I could plug in to? My partner and I live in an area that's fairly supportive of LGBTQ people, and have a guest bed. I could see us in the future potentially being able to offer a short-term place for someone to stay, but am not sure how to connect with people who may need that.

🏳️‍⚧️TRANS RIGHTS??

What rights do trans not have that everyone else does?

Forcing people to see you & accept you as the opposite sex or a fabricated gender is not a human right.

It is not a human right to force others to lie on your behalf.

It is not a human right to identify into another demographic.

Being included in gays' & lesbians' dating pools isn't a human right.

Taxpayer-funded “affirming care”aka harmful puberty blockers and surgeries aren’t a human right.

Never being "misgendered" isn't a human right.

Never having the motives behind your transition questioned isn't a human right.

Men competing against women isn't a human right.

Access to single-sex spaces for the opposite sex isn't a human right.

You can help by staying out of women’s spaces, and sports, and leaving kids alone , to just be kids…

You can help by keeping your fetish or delusional attention seeking lifestyle to yourself, it’s nothing new or rebellious- it’s all been done before, and no, we don’t have to collude with you in that Emperor’s New Clothes fantasy world…

What a hateful comment! Based on your other Substack posts it’s clear that you and your attitude are exactly why we need to stand up and do more to protect transgender people.

Thank you!

Of course, protector then, by all means - but it’s clear from your comments that you don’t give a tiny rat’s ask or care at all about much more vulnerable natal women who in the mean time are being raped, assaulted and more in what should be safe spaces - often by those who pretend to be their version of what they simply imagine is a ‘woman’, usually based on stereotypical @often fetishised versions…

Meanwhile, Women in jails and hospital wards are being raped and sexually assaulted, and paedophiles and voyeurs are gaining access to changing toons that put our children at risk…

All because you don’t think that tiny percentage of men should have hurty feelings…

Well it’s all just dripping in misogynistic male-entitled patriarchal BS

Well done you though 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️’All hail the men’,aye’?🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Perhaps instead of being so hateful towards an entire group of people you could spout off about why there aren’t enough single-occupancy gender-neutral changing spaces around. Yeah, I checked out your other Substack posts. Make up your mind - are you pissed off about changing spaces around or is it that you have an exaggerated and irrational dislike of an entire group of people because you don’t “like” them or their “lifestyle.” There’s a word for that, homophobia. Oh, wait, I meant transphobia.
